What is the Breast Cancer Index^SM test?
Breast Cancer Index is a molecular diagnosis test that provides critical information regarding both recurrence risk and viable therapeutic options for patients.

Which patients would most benefit from this test?
For estrogen receptor-positive, lymph node-negative breast cancer patients, this test helps to improve risk classification so that you and your doctor can make better, more informed decisions about your treatment.

What is the benefit of improved classification?
The Breast Cancer Index has the capability of re-classifying the majority of intermediate risk patients into either low or high-risk groups. This enables your physician to identify what risk level you are, and if you might benefit from treatments such as endocrine therapy.

Who can order Breast Cancer Index?
It can be ordered by a physician or other healthcare professionals.

How is the test performed?
The Breast Cancer Index requires a very small sample of the tumor tissue removed during a biopsy procedure. This is typically the same tissue already examined by your pathologist, so no additional procedure is required. That sample is sent to the certified laboratory of bioTheranostics where the Breast Cancer Index classification is performed.

How long does it take to get the results of the test?
It takes one week after the tumor sample is received by bioTheranostics for the results to be available. The report is then sent to both the doctor and the pathologist who submitted the tissue sample.

What if I don’t have insurance or my insurance doesn’t completely cover the test?
bioTheranostics believes that every eligible patient should have access to the Breast Cancer Index test. Programs for uninsured and qualified underinsured patients, and payment plans that can be tailored to meet specific financial needs, are available.

What if I need additional information or help on reimbursement?
