Senior Director of Information Technology


Overview:

Biotheranostics, Inc. develops molecular diagnostic tests that include supporting the selection of individualized oncology therapies through improved cancer classification and better breast cancer prognosis and recurrence risk stratification. The company operates a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited diagnostic laboratory in San Diego, CA. Biotheranostics, Inc. is seeking a high energy and productive Senior Director of Information Technology to join our team.

Job Description:

  • Develop information technology and digital strategy, computing infrastructure and implementation roadmap working with department heads and business leaders to understand their needs, challenges and opportunities, structured around both external and internal services that support business strategy:
      * to include systems evaluations and integrations
      * to provide and enable a platform for both US and international growth
      * to provide and implement procedures to strengthen security and privacy policies both for US policies as well as strategic OUS targets
      * to recommend and provide linkages to enhance client experience
      * establish metrics for managing and measuring IT effectiveness
      * establish appropriate service levels and processes to ensure key company and departmental objectives are met
      * liaise between all parties to understand IT requirements and how best to meet them
  • Ownership of implementation, management and change control for key laboratory operational systems including but not limited to Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), integration with software for proprietary computational algorithms and electronic records management
  • Oversees the management of corporate help desk activities and the planning and management of the company's telephone/faxing system
  • Prepare and monitor IT operational budgets to meet objectives and constraints
  • Develop and execute an analytics program in conjunction with department heads that will allow company business leaders to make data-driven decisions and drive process improvement across the organization
  • Proactively advises the Management Team on the emerging technologies and digital trends relevant to the company’s short- and long-term objectives

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of career experience in technology, including a minimum of 10 years in a leadership position in Healthcare; Clinical Laboratory experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading an agile development organization
  • Experience managing outsourcing partnerships and demonstrated experience with, and preference for SaaS and cloud-based solutions, including Salesforce.com administration
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a related field, such as computer science, engineering and/or business (MBA) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience driving digital transformation and business growth through innovation and the implementation of technology, leading complex, major change initiatives; demonstrated skills in change management
  • Possesses solid knowledge in emerging technologies, and the ability to apply these in the service of the company’s key business goals
  • Experience building an enterprise level data analytics capability
  • An entrepreneurial mindset; able and interested to pursue new business opportunities
  • Builder of strong technology vendor partnerships, and able to manage multiple vendor relationships to ensure the best performance and financial return and a broad knowledge of a range of vendor technology solutions; able to select and integrate the most appropriate technologies to support the business
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement comprehensive approaches to cyber security and risk management
  • Experience creating and maintaining HIPAA-compliant systems and processes
  • Outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, high pressure environment, and customer-service oriented
  • A strong background in operational and capital finances, and IT budget development
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
